The Shettima Rasheed of Borno. Jamiu, born on December 5, 1975, discovered his passion for linguistics at the remarkable age of nine. He graduated from New York University in January 1997, earning a degree in Political Science and Near Eastern Studies. Demonstrating his commitment to excellence, he returned to NYU in 2016 to obtain advanced certifications in patent, commercial, legal, and international translations, mastering Arabic, French, Spanish, and German into English.
Jamiu has built a distinguished career as an international translator, collaborating with TransPerfect, the world’s largest translation agency, and serving some of the most prominent global corporations. His career trajectory took a transformative turn when he became an author, penning influential books on social issues such as “Prisoner of Conscience.” His exploration of Nigeria’s political history through his bestseller “The President Who Never Ruled” cemented his reputation as a thought leader.
Driven by a profound commitment to societal change, Jamiu established the Kudirat Abiola Sabon Gari Peace Foundation, focusing on addressing the critical social challenges faced by African and Nigerian youth. His work with the foundation targets pressing issues like drug abuse and cultism. Currently, Jamiu is the Special Assistant on Special Duties to Nigeria’s President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In this influential role, he continues to champion the same social causes, leveraging his extensive experience and passion to make a significant impact on the lives of young people across Nigeria and Africa.

As Co-Founder and Secretary of the Kudirat Abiola Sabon Gari Foundation, he plays a crucial role in advancing education and healthcare initiatives for underprivileged communities in Nigeria. His determination saw him through Jehovah Jireh Primary School and Birch Freeman High School, culminating in a BSc in Accounting from Olabisi Onabanjo University in 2002 and an MBA from the University of Calabar in 2009. A Certified Accountant and Fraud Examiner, Lukman launched his career at Obat Oil and Petroleum Ltd and later dedicated a decade to the Lagos State Government as an Accountant. Driven by a passion for community upliftment, he founded The Ultimate Youth Dream Initiative, focusing on transformative education, healthcare, and economic empowerment across Nigeria. His leadership extended to his role as Special Assistant on Finance and Budget to Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila in 2019, and his unprecedented reappointment by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas in 2023. Through the Gbaja Professionals Volunteer Network Group, he pioneered volunteerism and human capital development, spearheading initiatives that supported 10,000 students, empowered youth and women, and provided critical healthcare and welfare interventions. Paul is a Peacebuilder with over a decade of experience working around development communications and strategic design and implementation (SDI) of youth led peacebuilding projects. Pauls has a Masters in Conflict, Security and Development (MCSD) from the Nigerian Defence Academy and consulted for various international and local organizations around strategic and effective communications, development, , innovative and strategic program design. He is the Chief Executive at MindCraft Communications and very passionate about leadership, innovative peacebuilding, storytelling, conflict management, environment and climate action, early warning and illegal migration, as well as addressing issues of sexual and gender-based violence in Nigeria.
Paul is very skilled in video editing and photography, graphics design and illustration, drone piloting, animation design, content writing/content development, monitoring and evaluation, and media relations. He is currently the Youth Country Liaisons, Nigeria (YCL) for the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) Generation Change Fellowship and has facilitated over a hundred training sessions for young people in and outside the country, build the capacity and induct new fellows into the program. He had previously served in the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). He is a fellow of the Heinrich Boll Foundation Green Academy Fellowship and the Generation Change Fellowship by USIP.
Recently, he worked with the Incident Center for Election Atrocities (ICEA) in harmonizing and coordinating evidence collection, preservation and advocacy on violence connected with elections in Nigeria and presently consults for Global Rights Mass Atrocities project. He was very strategic in setting up the Innov8 Startup Hub and developed several fellowships for innovators, inventors and researchers. He was also strategic in facilitating a synergy amongst the USIP Fellows and Country Team in working for peaceful elections during the 2023 Nigerian general elections. Paul uses his skills to engage young people in leveraging digital media and content development for peacebuilding and conflict management and plays an advisory role around strategic communication, program design, and innovation and growth.
